Well, the weekend is over - all craziness, emotionally charged, and overall fun-ness of it all. Lior has officially left Montreal, and I still am having a hard time believing it…while we have a London rendezvous tentatively planned for 2008, that still leaves many a month until our reunion. boo.
After a rash of incredible weather, it was only inevitable that we would get the floodgates of hell (or wrath, or whatever) descending upon us for this Monday a.m. A quick recap, however:
Friday: After 5 a 7 with some old Cleveland friends at Newton, Lior and Julia’s potluck was a success despite the somewhat inclement weather (props to Alexandra for lending them her place!). Plus I successfully managed to tie and thus wear my wrap dress (courtesy of Annette)! Otherwise a pretty chill night…(caveat: people over the age of 21 need to learn that just because “House Wine” comes in a larger bottle and is cheap, does not make it okay to offer it to your friends, ha ha…never a good idea).
Saturday was a bit of a whirlwind - brunch date at Toi, Moi et Cafe (always enjoyable - for some reason their baguettes always taste so much better than when I buy them!), a little Jean-Talon Market action, wine and fruit in Jarry Park, quick tour guide of Chinatown and Vieux Port, then up to Les Bobards for Papa Groove! Fun times…and apologies again for smelling like a total alk - I spilled a half pint of beer all over myself while telling what I’m sure will no longer be remembered as a witty and humorous story. Gotta watch those ebullient hand gestures, ha ha.
And Sunday…did grocery shopping at the crack of dawn (seems I’ve contracted mild insomnia lately, hmm), some phone call catching up, cleaned house, then rode down to Tams to see friends. Dinner with Anya and Lior (moules) chez moi, and then down to Francofolies to see Pierre Lapointe and mourn Lior’s impending departure.
Ok, so I lied - no sex + candy. But I wanted to use the plus sign. + + + satisfaction :)
